♡ What I've Been Reading and Watching this summer ♡

Well I know what you are all thinking, it's not the end of summer yet but for me it feels like it is because I'm slowly but surely going back to uni in a few days. I'm not going to say that I spent all of my summer watching movies and reading, even though it may be true, but in today's post I wanted to share with you what I've been reading and watching during these past three months. Don't worry, I've read more books and I've seen more movies in the summer than the ones that I'm going to show you here, but I wanted to focus on the ones I really loved.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K Rowling | I know, I know, I'm probably the last person on earth who read the last Harry Potter book but in my defense, this year has been pretty busy with university. In fact, I'm glad I took a special time to read it. At first, I must admit that it felt weird because it's not a novel but a script of a play but in fact it just brought back nostalgic feelings. I loved learning more about the characters and see how they evolved over time but also discover new characters.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn | I wanted to read this one for a really long time. In fact, I bought the book last year ... shame on me ! If you don't know, I love reading thrillers and detective novels during summer, I don't know why but reading a thriller on the beach is the definition of heaven for me. But let's come back to this book ! I think it has an amazing psychological story with a lot of plot twists. I also decided to watch the movie afterwards and I was quite disappointed by it. In my opinion, the book is way better than the actual movie (which I know is the case for a lot of adapted movies).

The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins | Another book that I really wanted to read, The Girl On The Train quickly became one of my favorite book in only one reading. It is indeed a psychological thriller that I quickly read in two days because it was so addictive, I just couldn't stop reading it ! I quite love the main character and I love how the story is written, using three point of views. I also watched the movie afterwards and I was a bit disappointed because they deleted some scenes that in my opinion were important for the story.

Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso | I started this book in fact a few days ago but I absolutely love it. I've discovered it after watching the Netflix show Girl Boss which is inspired by this autobiography book by Sophia Amoruso. It really pushed me to make my dreams come true (I know how cheesy this sounds but you get the point).
La La Land | I must admit that this movie became one of my favorite movies EVER. It has everything that I love : music, dance and romance. I really love Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling actor's performances and it was a pleasure to rewatch this movie during this summer. The opening sequence and the last one are absolutely breathtaking ! I also really enjoy all the songs and the visual of this movie, especially all the colors

Feed | I've discovered this movie as I was following Troian Bellisario on Instagram and it was such a beautiful discovery. In fact Troian is incredible at portraying someone with anorexia and eating disorders.

Before I Fall | Before I Fall is a really powerful movie about how a decision can affect other people's lives. This is the kind of movie that make me sat a few minutes afterwards, thinking about my life. It made me realize a lot of things and I definitely recommend you to watch it. Truly beautiful.

To The Bone | I've heard about this movie a few weeks ago and the only thing I knew was that is was about anorexia. In fact I found the performance of Lilly Collins truly brillant. This movie is really powerful and opens about a sensible topic but it's really well made.

And you, what have you been reading and watching lately ?
